From Chinatown buses or Greyhound/ Amtrak/ Union Station: find H street (0-3 blocks). Get an X2 metrobus(east ). Bus costs $1.35 Get a transfer so any bustrip in DC is now free, for the next 3-4 hours.(Even the return trip) Exit bus @ 2301 Benning Road (Poppies Fried Chicken). Walk 1/2 block east to 2411 Benning Road. You will see, after crossing 24th street and staying on the main road,Benning Rd., our sign: Capitol City. We are next to the late-night chinese food carryout ,Kerry's.
From airports: take Metro(Train) to either Metro Center or to Chinatown/Gallery Place or to Union Station --whichever is easiest from your respective airport, Dulles( 5A bus $3), Reagan National (blue or yellow line metro train), or BWI (free bus to Amtrak/ Marc)--and follow above directions. Save $ . Get a free subway to bus transfer (located near some subway system escalators) so the X2 bus will then cost you only 45 cents instead of $1.35. Yes, get the bus transfer too. You may want to use it later for a free busride to chinatown and back.
