November 02, 2009
9th November 1989 was a historic day in both Germany and the world's history. It was the day the Berlin Wall fell and Germany was once again unified. 20 years on Berlin has become one of Europe's electric, historical and sprawling cities.
To mark this historic occasion Berlin has organized a number of festivals and exhibitions in the run up, culminating in the festival of Freedom on the 9th of November. A giant domino display will take place where a chain of domino's, designed by Berlin school children, will be put up along the former border with the last domino falling at the Brandenburg gate. The evening will then kick off with a concert followed by a fireworks display and laser show above the Brandenburg Gate which is sure to be special.
Whether it's a co-incidence or not MTV are also hosting their annual Video Music Awards (VMA's) in Berlin on the 5th November so you may even get to catch a glimpse of a few celebs while there!
