Hostal Estrella de Agua

I was disappointed with this hostel. The place is beautiful and in a great location, but the atmosphere is lacking. Check-in is long and feels like a process. Bathrooms are far from the dorms, and only one has hot water, which is too hot. The staff is nice, but the vibe could be more social. Also, note that the jacuzzi comes at an extra cost. The potential is there, but it needs a more relaxed process and a better social atmosphere

+Pros: The location and jacuzzi -Cons: The room and reception. Very unhappy with this place. We booked the 'luxury' room with the 'king size' bed, which is actually a foamy layer on top of two single mattresses, that create a gap in the middle of the bed that gave us back pain, barely any room to walk inside the room. The tap in the bathroom was also loose, and needs fixing. The worst part was that the room was right under the reception and there is zero noise insulation, so you can hear every step and voice, like they were in the room with us, until late into the night, very unpleasant. Especially when you want to get up early for a hike! and on top of that they lock the door at the entrance in the hostel in the morning and there was no one to open it. I understand people might leave without paying but then you need someone to open it. I wanted to see Salento but couldn't another guest wanted to leave and left through the window. Very unprofessional. The kitchen is very basic some pots and hardly any utensils, and the stove does not work well. Finally, on the site it mentions you can pay with credit card at the property, this is not true, only cash. I feel the hostel lost the charm from the past and still lives on because of good old reviews. Anyway, I wish we had stayed somewhere else.

Was not happy with our experience at this hostel. It’s a cute place the room was clean but as soon as we got there they said they have overbooked the rooms so we didn’t receive the one we initially booked which was a shock. we were in our room with door locked the receptionist knocked on our door repeatedly too tell us too be quite because we just laughed. It was rude and uncalled for. They were using chemicals like paint at 1am and the smell disrupted our sleep Very odd hostel
