Welcome to LEBO’S SOWETO! We offer a unique and personal experience of Soweto. Integrated with the community around us we invite day as well as overnight guests to be part of this vibrant township. Our day guests can book one of the interactive tours by walk, bicycle or tuk-tuk as well as relaxing with a home cooked lunch or dinner in the outdoors in our community park and around the fire and boma. An overnight experience at the Backpackers Lodge offers the budget traveller a choice of accommodation – camping, dormitory and private En Suite rooms. Home cooked meals served by the fire and the opportunity to explore Soweto on their own by safely strolling around and mingling with the locals or on an organized tour conducted by local tour guides. Community volunteering, self-guided tours and free bicycle hire is also available for the curious traveller staying longer.

This hostel is worth your time and worth your investment. Lebo’s has a community minded mission that extends past the tragic passing of its founder. Staying at Lebo’s delivers a true Soweto experience while giving you the ability to proudly claim you made an investment in the local community AND the rockstar staffers who work there. awesome place! its in soweto so a bit far from the city center, but johannesburg is just a huge place to everything is far and to be honest i preferred soweto to johannesburg center anyway. beautiful, safe, friendly, welcoming, delicious food, lovely staff, very community involved. the best way to get to know soweto and the amazing people living there. we loved it, it was our favorite place in johannesburg by far :) thank you so much

A truly unique, educational and profound experience, set in the significant area of Soweto, the backpackers is green and lush, quite beautiful and incredibly well organised and run. The tours are great and so interesting- and we had some fun along the way. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
