This new property complex has been created in what was once an Augustinian friary, dating from between the 12th and 13th centuries.
It is situated in the heart of the old town of Levanto, a pleasant resort on the Ligurian coast, at about 100 meter from the see and 15 minutes from the railway station.
There are 70 beds in the complex, the bedrooms are having 2/4/6/9 beds in each.. Two rooms are suitable for disabled and all have adjoining bathrooms.
Ospitalia del mare is an ideal place for people who are looking for an unforgettable holiday in Levanto. It is the starting point for the most important footpaths which will bring you in the Cinque Terre's National Park. By train you are in only five minutes time at the first village of the Cinque terre

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. I really liked how spacious the room was and I generally felt safe. The location is also great as it is only a 10-15 minute walk to Levanto station, and from there it is quite easy to travel to the five Cinque Terre villages, so I would recommend this hostel as a base. The hostel staff were also very responsive when I had questions prior to my stay. There is also a terrace where it is possible to meet other travellers.

The location was great to visit cinque terre and close to the beach. Bedrooms and terrace were lovely but WiFi didn’t work and there was no kitchen (there is a kettle and microwave do find for a night or two). Huge lockable wardrobes. Nice people. Good budget stay for cinque terre as super easy on the train from la spezia.
