Media Luna Baru is a nice hostel that offers its own Bar, Restaurant, Volleyball field, kayaks, paddle board, snorkels and private beach!
We are located within Corales del Rosario National Park on Baru island Cartagena-Bolivar, is a wonderful place known for its warm waters and mesmerizing corral reefs. Near by you'll find mangroves, reflective pools and underwater gardens Imporntan notes:
* The Island is only accessible by boat; You can get to the island by:
• Take the boat at the pier of the town of Barú which is reached by land from Cartagena in approximately one hour, and take the boat that takes you up to our hostel within 10 minutes.
•We can also set up rides with private or public transport (taxis, all of which meet the appropriate biosecurity measures and standards) to the town of Baru and catch a boat ride there.
• You can also arrive in the town of Baru via personal vehicle, where you will be able to find open air parking, and from there we can set you up with a boat ride to the Island. This parking area does not belong to the hostel and therefore would have an additional cost.
•Our customers comfort is our top priority, this includes keeping costs low as well, which is why we recommend using our transportation service. In order for this to workout we ask you make your reservations at least one day in advance by email or via WhatsApp.
•Obeying Decree 0885 of 2016 of the Cartagena mayor's office, which prohibits the entry of food and beverages into the protected areas of the Corales del Rosario and San Bernardo National Natural Park. It is not allowed to enter food or drinks by our guests at Isla Luna Beach Hostel, only drinking water is allowed.
. You will enjoy the privacy and peacefulness of our hostel, our private beach located in Isla Baru in a beautiful beach called Playa Bobo. Media Luna Baru has double level cottages with one room on each floor and one bathroom to share with fresh water.

Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards. (This property may pre-authorise your card before arrival).
Taxes not included - 19.00% (only for Colombians).

General - No curfew.

Great place, a bit difficult to get to, so make sure you take them up on their offer of transportation to the hostel from their sister hostel in Cartagena. They provide everything you could possibly need and drinks/food are reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing location - have a private section of the beach all to ourselves! Really lovely hostel in general.
Only negative is that the staff didn’t really go out of their way to help on several occasions. E.g. We were informed upon arrival at 2pm the kitchen was closed. Having had no food all morning due to travelling, we asked if the chef could prepare something small, but she refused and were asked to wait until 4pm, with food finally only arriving after 5pm. So customer service could be better
