Located in the historical center Uai Hostel is very good for those who like to chat, meet new people, parties, and also for those who like waterfalls, trails and parks, offer tourist tour with Kombi truck.
The Uai offer leisure area, bar, pool table, laundry room, kitchen, outdoors area and meeting space and books for reading. The house decoration is vintage, alternative and lots of musical influences like rock, blues and Brazilian rhythms.
The Uai hostel is locating in a very old neighborhood in front of the Alejadinho museum, gold mine “Chico Rey” and near to the church St. Francis of Assis and Tiradentes Square, The house has two parts the main was built by slaves and with an architecture very interesting and modern part overlooking mountains.

Probably the best option for a place to stay in Ouro Preto.

Great location in Ouro Preto, super easy to get to the main square and wander around. The staff speak a bit of English but it’s not the perfect Hostel for the English speaker if you’re like me and neglected to learn any Portuguese before coming to Brazil (and that’s on me, not the Hostel). Lots of smiles around but not the kind of place to meet lots of English speakers and do stuff together (probably very social if you know Portuguese).
