Gecko Guesthouse has been welcoming backpackers since 2003, We are one of the older and livelier guesthouses in Pantai Cenang and have an on-site bar open til midnight.
Our location is excellent, just off the main road and 3 minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk to Cenang Mall.
Our best asset is the lovely tropical garden area where one can relax, read a book, play online or simply swap stories with fellow travelers and make new friends. We offer various types of accommodation to suit your budget from dormitory to air-con rooms and have double and twin rooms available.
Property Policies & Conditions:
1. Cancellation policy: At least 1 day advance notice for free cancellation.
2. Check in from 12:00 to 23:00.
3. Check out before 12:00 noon.
4. Payment upon arrival by cash only.
5. Reception working hours 09:00-23:00.

We were so pleasantly surprised with this hostel! The location is so close to the main beach. There's scooter rentals right next door and plenty of food options around. The AC unit worked well. There's adorable sweet cats that hang around as well. The best part of it all was the hostel manager, Chief. He provided so many activities and food recommendations for us. He even created a day tour for us on Google Maps that took us to all the cool hidden spots around town. Would definitely stay again!

A good hostel overall, very very quiet so perfect if you just wanna chill. They don’t sell alcohol so if you wanna party head to the bars. The room is very basic a bit dated could do with some renovations but the price is very reasonable. They offer a food menu and there are some local restaurants right near the hostel too. They didn’t ask me for payment on check in & the owner knocked on my door in the morning & continued to come knocking even though I explained I will pay when I can withdraw
