The Hornbill is a comfy hangout with espresso coffee, books and boardgames. There are plenty of spaces to chill including seats, sofas and swings where you can watch the world go by.
Our cafe is open early serving real coffee, breakfast, baked goods, home made snacks, cocktails and family dinner.
All of our rooms are clean and simple. Upstairs we have a 6 bed and 8 bed dorm and 4 private double rooms. All beds have a net and fan. The rooms have shelves, charging stations available. Towels are provided for private rooms.
We offer all guests secure storage at reception for expensive items and free bag storage.
Our guests can also enjoy the balcony space which has a large sofa and bar top with a view of the village.
The bathrooms/showers are shared facilities and are located downstairs.
Cafe open 5 days a week for coffee and breakfast from 8am until 12pm. Bar open from 5 until 10!
Simple accommodation on a budget, great location and lots of games and good vibes!

Staff were sooo lovely!! Enjoyed a movie night & free popcorn. Cheese toasties were banging. Nice area downstairs to chill in. They even had cups of tea which made a British backpacker very happy 😀 Toilets not that clean though, and woke up every morning dripping in sweat because it was so hot and no air con.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, enjoyed the movie night and pub quiz organised by the owners. Great location as the beach with bioluminescent plankton is a 5 minute walk away. Fans in room kept me cool(ish). Food here is good but ask them for local recommendations as well. M’Pai Bay has a great community feel with very chilled locals and ex pats who were all equally friendly and helpful

Amazing hostel !! Thoroughly enjoyed my time here when staying on the island, the staff gave excellent advice and even helped us out with some snorkelling items 😃 , food and drinks were very yum! - would recommend coming here when visiting the island - the hostel does not have Wi-Fi however, the rooms can get a hot and you can hear the cafe downstairs at night from times - apart from that it’s was amazing stay!
