Signel Hostel is strategically located in the city centre, which is around 20 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport. We are proud to be the first hostel in Kota Kinabalu to adopt sustainable and Go Green approach. To support and promote healthy living at Signel, we have opted alternate Fridays as our Go Green day and complimentary fruits will be given away to guests.
Our humble hostel offers both private and dorm beds, equipped with individual reading lights and curtains for privacy, air conditioning, with shared bathroom facilities. Guests can chill in the cozy lounge with TV and board games for social time. Nintendo Wii games are available upon request too. Female travelers can even opt-out for our female only dorm room.
*Please note Basic Double Bed Private and Basic 6 Bed Mixed Dorm is in the same room, under the same rooftop.

The staff were really lovely and helpful, however, this feels more like you're staying in someone's house than a hostel. The facilities are quite dirty and the kitchen is half in the bathroom and half in the hallway. The rooms are smaller than pictured and the atmosphere isn't amazing. If there is someone in the small living room (which there always was) there is no where else to sit.
If you are just passing through KK then this is a cheap and cheerful hostel for a night but not for longer.

Staff were really friendly and a great help. Decent location in KK. Beds had curtains power socket etc and were comfortable. Hostel it’s self is quite small and not very social as I think most beds are now rented out to locals but still a decent hostel.

Signel is a great hostel, staff very helpful and bog lockers are useful. The communal areas, kitchen and lounge are quite small, which is not anyones fault, just a fact.
