Welcome to MEININGER Lyon Centre Berthelot
MEININGER Lyon Centre Berthelot is the place to stay for modern, clean and affordable accommodation. It is based in a highly attractive central location which allows every guest to explore the city of Lyon with an ease that truly enhances their whole trip. Because it is such a stress free journey from the hotel to all the best landmarks, our guests can maximise the fun they have at these glorious locations rather than wasting time commuting.
As for the hotel, it feels like a landmark worth visiting in itself! Lyon celebrates its Fete des lumieres festival each year and the interior design of the hotel was inspired by both this festival and the Lumieres brothers who are considered the founders of cinema.
There are 169 rooms in the hotel and 590 beds across 7 floors accessible by 3 lifts. The rooms are a mix of single, double, multi-bed rooms and dormitories and we have a diverse range of guests staying with us- backpackers, business travelers, families and groups. The rooms come fully fitted with all the amenities these guests need to have a great stay. This includes linen, bedding, toiletries, WC and showers, flat screen TVs and key card security access to ensure you have peace of mind. Beyond the rooms, you must take advantage of our other guest services. Many who stay with us visit our public zones, great places to socialise and relax. There is a lounge with bar, guest kitchen and game zone for those who love some competitive fun!

This hostel is beautiful. Clean, fresh, the best room we have ever had (as a family of five) in a hostel or a hotel. The location is absolutely fine - but a late evening walk back to the hostel was a bit dicey at points. For a very busy hostel, it was also very quiet, no noise at night at all.
The only issue we found really was that while it was so hot, it was impossible to get cold water from any taps so filling up water bottles was tricky!

We loved our stay here last week. A lady behind the desk was so friendly and accommodating. She went above and beyond to get us to our room as early as possible (we were so tired), and kept us updated on it too. The kitchen was spotless and we were so happy to see an oven. The room was spotless and our shower was so clean. We’ve fallen in love with Meininger, and will definitely be staying again in the future

Excellent place, we were there only for one night, but the room was clean, nicely decorated, everything was nice and tidy. The breakfast was generous, loads of options. Really great place to stay with the family.
