Looking for a nice place with a chilled vibe right at the beach? Big Surf House offers a home to all surfers and travelers looking for a great time. The hostel is located right at the beachfront in the middle of Guasacate (Popoyo). The famous surf break Popoyo is only a 5 minute walk away. In winter you can surf right in front of the hostel.
Big Surf House provides several private rooms with private bathroom. The 8-bed dorms have AC and private lockers. The accommodation features a big shared kitchen, an outside BBQ place, pool table, big chill area and a bar with the best sunset view where everyone gathers at night. There is free WiFi available.
At Big Surf House we offer a variety of activities and services for beginner - advanced surfers such as surf lessons, board rental and surf trips. Non-surfer? No worries. We also organise fishing trips, horseback riding and provide motorbike rental.

beautiful location but unfriendly staff and pretty dirty bathroom and kitchen

Only one bathroom inside for everyone, except there’s one for women’s shared room, and the rest are outside. Only one fridge to share and it’s always packed, with only one small stove in the house. So much sand on the floor specially when taking a shower at night. Some staffs are not approachable, where they choose their own circle to who they want to talk to. So sad.

Stayed for only one night in private room. Didn’t realize this is more of a house than a hostel (e.g no drinks, no food unless you bring yourself) which may have been my mistake when booking. Sheets on bed had a bunch of wood chips or pieces of some sort of dirt on them? The room probably hasn’t been properly cleaned in along time - bunch of dust on floors and under bed + cobwebs. Robyn working check in was nice but wouldn’t stay here again. I need a bit more out of a hostel than this offered.
