A boutique hostel in the heart of Townsville, 'Flashpackers' if you will! If you're looking for a premium, clean, friendly, central hostel, with comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi, you've come to the right place!
Sovereign House is a heritage listed building, with high ceilings, extra large rooms and facilities, with wrap around verandahs and a cafe and bar on site.
Our dorm rooms are male, female or mixed and accommodate 6 people, ages 18-35, and there is no overcrowding here! Relax in one of the many shared spaces, or read a book in the hammocks, our hostel is the perfect stay while you're in Townsville. If you need help securing your 88 days we can help with that too, just see Coppo for a list of jobs!
We are a short taxi or uber ride from the airport, we are literally across the road from the train station and a scooter or taxi/uber from the bus stop. The street we are located on is the main street in Townsville.

Really bad way to treat to the guest they show up in your room at 1 am cause they didn’t know wich bed was free, the common areas they cleaned just one day per week or that is what i saw, they are bully with the girls if someone do something wrong they threatened you to call the cops and make you to pay a fine for nothing

No one about at all, waited ages to check in…a guy doing work on electrical something had to try find someone took ages no one at check out either…no one about the hostel/hotel/place few guests that where long term workers.
Rooms crawling with little bugs…dirty kitchen area not much worked. States air con but have to pay every few hours for it to work.
Wouldn’t recommend.

Very strange experience / hostel.
Check in via phone call and then payment link sent via text before access to building. You’d be buggered if you didn’t have a Aus sim.
No locks on doors, no lockers provided, no locks on mens shower doors either. Mens shower was also filthy. Had to pay $1 for 5 hours of Aircon in your room and roof fan didn’t work either. Very small kitchen. Very grubby and lots of food just left / rotting.
Positives: Ladies shower / bathroom was pretty good tbf and beds were fine.
