I had a fantastic stay in Kruger's backpackers inn. The hostel is next to the national park, in an area with already plenty of wildlife! It has a big kitchen, nice rooms and common areas. The owners are amazingly genuine people. I learnt a lot from them about wildlife (they have been working in the park for decades) and life in Southern Africa. They were also very helpful on my solo-without-car trip. They made sure I was able to reach/leave the place and go to the park. Extremely recommended.
