Port Adelaide Backpackers are an awesome value for money hostel with guaranteed free on street car parking. We , are not far from the beach, free WiFi,(300mb), free pool table, free PS3 , games and dvds.
We are a clean, fun and friendly budget hostel in the heart of historic Port Adelaide. With all the banks, supermarkets, pubs, shops you could possibly need.
Only minutes away from Port river, dolphins and beautiful semaphore beach. All of our private rooms and most of our dorms are air-conditioned/heated.
Private and family rooms with double, queen and bunk bed options, so they can accommodate from one to six people in comfort. Just let us know when you book and we are happy to arrange the room to suit your needs.
All private rooms with tv, dvd, bar fridge. We have a movie room( 50 inch tv with over 200 movies free dvds) huge dining hall, coin laundry, outdoor smoking courtyard and free BBQ and all of this is only a short train ride from Adelaide city central train station( 20 minutes) secure lockers, cameras and combination locks assure your privacy and safety whilst staying with us.
Our friendly staff are more than happy to assist you while you are staying at Port Adelaide Backpackers. Our staff consist of an on-site manager who lives on the property and works during evenings and he is on call during the day. Our virtual receptionist are on duty from 8:00 Am- 9:00 Pm, so whenever you go to the reception there is always someone there happy to help you. They are skyped in from overseas and they are fully trained professionals, with years of experience in the hospitality industry.
•Guests MUST present valid Passport upon Check-in. Failure to present valid documents will result in denied check-in with no refund.
•Please note if booking more than 1 person into a dorm room, we cannot guarantee you will be in the same room. We will however try our best.
•There is a strict NO refund policy for all 'In house guests' who have changed their mind or their travel plans and no refunds on bookings paid in advance.
•Please note if booking more than 1 person into a dorm room, we cannot guarantee you will be in the same room. We will however try our best.

A bit grim but okay for one night. The lock on the dorm door was broken so anyone could come in there. Didn’t seem to be any on-site staff but maybe I missed them. Easily accessible by bus (~40 mins) from the city centre. Telecommuting receptionist was friendly. The best thing about this hostel is that it’s right across the street from a really nice bakery, great for breakfast. Port Adelaide in general is kind of a sketchy place, I can’t recommend it. Probably stay in Adelaide if you can.

This spot needs a reboot, the artificial intelligence girl stuck in a booth is woeful, and some of the long term residents need a rehab

Definitely not worth $70-80 a night. Only staff I encountered was a housekeeper and they have a “virtual receptionist”, a lady on a Skype screen, which I’ve never seen before. There is only 2 bathrooms through the whole hostel. And the kitchen is tiny, only 2 people can really cook in there at a time. Had a good night sleep but that’s really the only positive as well as the other guests staying there.
