Mariestad Stadshotell is hosted in a Historical building built in 1865 with newly renovated guest rooms. Mariestad is known for the well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century buildings in its old town. Mariestad Cathedral combines Renaissance and Gothic styles. Vadsbo Museum, in the old county governor’s house, traces the history of the area. Its on-site Industrial Museum has exhibits on manufacturing. The town sits on the eastern shore of vast Lake Vänern, which is dotted with small islands. To be more exact, we are in front of the Tidan River as well as we are near to some of the finest tourist attractions of the area such as Vadsbo Museum, Karlsholme Folkets Park and Gästhamnen, amongst other interesting locations of the city.
