The Jaca Hostel is a small Hostel in the heart of Funchal city on Madeira Island. Before, it was a family home, coming from the nineteenth century, which after being remodelled became a cosy place that mixes the blue of the sea, the culture of the city surrounded by the green of the mountains, the trails and the levadas. The name Jaca is original of a regionalism of the island of Madeira that means small crab.
This property is 1 minute walk from the city hall. Located in Funchal, Jaca Hostel offers a inner yard, kitchen and balcony. Free Wi-Fi is included.
We offer Private rooms twin and double and a shared dorm for up to two guest. All the rooms are with wooden floors with simple and pleasant decoration.

Great location in the city centre. Hostel was clean and quiet, maybe not the most social place but otherwise great.
Small downside is that there aren't sockets at each bed so it can get inconvenient charging your phone/computer.

The Jaca Hostel Clean und super easy to find. Unfortunately it laks of possibilities to interact with other travelers.

I have to say the Jaca hostel was one of my favourite hostels. The amenities were all very modern and arriving and leaving the hostel was very easy (even if there was no one at reception for the day). The courtyard in the backyard was a very nice place to sit and relax. The location was also superb and it took less than 10 minutes to get to any key locations in Funchal. It was a little quieter hostel, however, I met amazing people and you can always find something fun to do at night.
