I loved the staff and information and connections that I made. I would say that as a solo traveler, the value was not particularly good. This was most expensive accommodation I had had in three countries in Africa, and definitely not the highest quality.. that said, if you are willing to stay in the dorm, or you’re a couple, the value for the money is much better.

Really loved my stay here at the BIG!! Would highly recommend, if you are considering staying here just book it. Great central location, super friendly staff. Perfect for travelers a bit older that are looking to get away from the party hostel scene but still have a social environment.

Best facilites I’ve seen from a hostel in Capetown, the receptionist was very rude though, maybe she had a bad day but it was awkward for us on the tour round when she was having a go at us for not saying anything back whilst pointing out the weather board and brochures display... great if you’re travelling with others, less so if you’re on your own
